Organizational Alignment

Category: Mindset,PlanningStefan Kazakis @ 8:09 am

Organizational alignment is not just about words on a page. It is about the actions you and your staff members take every day in the workplace. Don’t make the mistake of getting so caught up in ideas and theory that you fall behind in practice. In other words – don’t get caught up in ‘more’ knowing at the expense of ‘more’ doing.

The organization that is precise and understands and acts upon its Top 5 and Top 1 of five is the organization that progresses and prevails.

The top pocket checklist

Category: Mindset,PlanningStefan Kazakis @ 8:08 am

This is the most specific and active part of your organizational alignment structure.

It is also the most simplistic for immediate results. Each team member writes down their top five priorities for the day. Check that list every 15 minutes and tick each task off as it is completed.

Given the fact that you are working on the most important tasks, it is important not to let despair take hold if only two or three tasks are achieved in a day, the others can wait. This is a valuable lesson in focus and time management. We tend to overestimate what we can do in 5 minutes and underestimate what we can do in 5 years.

The more skilled you become at managing and completing tasks to time, the more you will see results in terms of growth and progress.

Making MAPS

Category: Mindset,PlanningStefan Kazakis @ 8:56 am

There are two kinds of MAPs that will assist your organisational alignment in action. Each team member should create a MAP (My Activities Plan), set by them, that is aligned with the bigger picture MAP (Management Accountability Plan) – set by you.

MAPs can be more fluid and flexible than your priorities as they relate to tasks and activities. They form the blueprint or structure for daily, weekly and monthly actions.

In my experience both in Business and Executive Coaching 90 day plans work best. Contact us to find out more about implementing 90 day plans.

Desire, devotion, determination

Category: Business,MindsetStefan Kazakis @ 8:12 am

The three Ds are common to all entrepreneurs and make the difference between mediocre results and sterling success. Don’t run a business because you think you should (or someone else thinks you should). Your desire is what will re-ignite you during tough times so you need to be confident it is there and it is strong.

The bottom line is that being an entrepreneur is hard work. It is hugely rewarding but it asks huge commitment. And it will offer huge challenges. Your devotion and determination are the keys to building a business that can withstand the batterings of the market place.

Think outside yourself and outside the box

Category: Business,MindsetStefan Kazakis @ 8:11 am

Entrepreneurs look at the world they live in and ask what is missing. If your business is all about you, it will have a limited capacity for growth. Once it becomes about your customers, your staff, your community then it will always be able to grow. Because it will tap into a larger network than just you.

Don’t make the mistake of trying to the same thing as your key competitors but ‘cheaper’ or ‘better’. Rather, ask what are your competitors NOT doing? Think outside the box and offer your customers a bonus or benefit. It can be one they identify they need, or one you anticipate will make their life better. Don’t be afraid to lead the way. No-one knew they needed a personal computer until they were available. Now, who can live without one?
